Answer to Question 1

False

Answer to Question 2

Marketing researchers have also sometimes adopted a tool that originated in the physical sciences and is capable of providing statistical results even when only a small amount of data exists or when the measurement quality is not particularly strong. Partial least squares (PLS) combines a PCA-based measurement approach with a least-squares based regression approach to simultaneously produce path estimates between factors represented by multiple item measures. PLS is particularly useful though when the data are messy, difficult to obtain, and/or the measurement quality is not strong enough for use in SEM. PLS is also very easy to use.
