She compares the galvanic skin responses of participants while telling the truth (pretest) and while telling lies (posttest). Answer to Question 1

D
The galvanic skin response (GSR) is a change in the electrical conductivity of the skin, and is not as easily controlled by most people as is making a deliberate choice on a Likert scale. Therefore, the GSR on the pretest is less likely to influence the GSR on the posttest.

Answer to Question 2

C
Testing effects could occur if the pretest is short and followed closely in time by the posttest.
