This is the most frequently used inferential test used to test the difference between two means.

The Student's t test is a very commonly used instrument for making inferences about the means in 2-group between subjects experiments.

Answer to Question 2

D
If the data are nominal, or if the dependent variable is not normally distributed, the t test is inappropriate. The t test can only be done for two groups.
