Many city dwellers maintain stable, intimate relationships with kin, neighbors, and coworkers. The city is a mosaic of social worlds or intimate social groups. Studies have demonstrated the existence of communities of all kinds in the city in which urban dwellers maintain continuing relationships based on kinship, occupation, lifestyle, and similar personal attributes.
