The following are suggested areas for students to address in their essays: Describe sociologist Gustave Le Bon's contagion theory and provide an example. Explain sociologist Robert Park's theory on social unrest and circular reaction, and provide an example.

Discuss convergence theory and provide an example.

Describe sociologists Ralph Turner and Lewis Killian's emergent norms theory and provide an example.

Encourage students to include any personal viewpoints on theories of crowd behavior in their response.
