Answer to Question 2

Feedback: In the myth of separate worlds, social relations within the home are thought to be different from those in the world at large. The family is a place of love and trust, where individuals escape from the outside world. It makes a distinction between public and private realms with the family as a haven in a heartless world. In the order perspective, families provide a haven from the harsh outside world of work and the marketplace. The nuclear family is the bedrock of society in an achievement-oriented world. From the conflict perspective, the family is not the haven posited by the order theorists. Broader social systems enter into the family and reproduce the conflicts and tensions found in the rest of society. Family relations are not simply matters of love and agreement, but political arrangements as well. What is thought to be a private relationship of love is really a social relationship of power. At the micro level, conflict is generated by (a) women's resistance to men's dominance, and (b) employment and economic hardships, which work against family companionship. Thus, the modern family is not a tranquil institution, but one fraught with potential and actual conflict.

Every flu season is different, and even healthy people can get extremely sick from the flu, as well as spread it to others. The flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May. Every person over six months of age should get an annual flu vaccine. The vaccine cannot cause you to get influenza, but in some seasons, may not be completely able to prevent you from acquiring influenza due to changes in causative viruses. The viruses in the flu shot are killed—there is no way they can give you the flu. Minor side effects include soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given. It is possible to develop a slight fever, and body aches, but these are simply signs that the body is responding to the vaccine and making itself ready to fight off the influenza virus should you come in contact with it.
