Answer to Question 1

FALSE

Answer to Question 2

The job description of first responders includes helping people in dangerous situations, so most of their work would not involve role extension. The degree of danger would have to be extreme to constitute an extension of the role. At the other end of the behavioral continuum, however, first responders sometimes participate in civic events as representatives of community leadership. Riding or marching in parades might be considered a role extension for them. There is also a concept of going above and beyond the call of duty and although these civil servants may be expected to perform heroic and life saving activities routinely, they also go out of their way to comfort families and individuals, to follow-up after hours to check on individuals, and to perform other duties not a part of their expected job descriptions.

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
