Answer to Question 1

Presenting information only about what is supported and negative information about what is opposed, which encourages only one logical conclusion or choice. Falsehoods, distortions, and illogical statements are often used.

Answer to Question 2

Except in Oregon and Washington where a law was passed permitting medically assisted suicide, such a practice is illegal in the United States. Jack Kevorkian is an example of someone who was convicted of the practice and sentenced to 10 to 25 years in prison. In Europe, medically assisted suicide is permitted by law in Belgium and Holland. In Holland, the Dutch carry passports that are a form of living will that indicates to authorities their wishes to be euthanized or not should they be involved in a serious accident or stricken suddenly by a debilitating disease such as heart attack or stroke. Euthanasia in Europe is not without its mistakes and false assumptions with a number of documented cases where death was not the patient's expressed wish, but the attending physician's.
