Answer to Question 1

In crack houses, crack-addicted women, and in a few cases men, would engage in quick sex with many men to get crack or the money to buy crack. This is typically unprotected sex and involves multiple partners, with many IV-drug users among the partners. The women go from one sexual contact to another for a hit of crack and in some cases have literally thousands of sexual contacts a year. In fact, some of the women who engage repeatedly in quick oral sex with many men to get crack did not even consider this to be prostitution. This behavior entails a very high risk of spreading the AIDS virus.
