While preparing dosages, how many times should the drug order and the drug label routinely be checked against each other?

The client is prescribed 3/4 strength Ensure 240 mL via NG tube over 8 h. What is the pump setting in mL/h? Round to the nearest whole number.

Answer to Question 1

They should be checked three times; (1) when you locate the drug, (2) just prior to opening or pouring the drug, and (3) immediately before administration of the drug.
