Calculate the following dosage. Use labels where provided. Round oral liquids to the nearest tenth as indicated.

Question 2

An IV of 1000ml D5w has been ordered to be infused at 125ml/hr. The drop factor for the IV tubing is 10gtt/ml.

For gtt/min: The solution is Volume x Calibration / Minutes. So 125ml/hr x 10gtt/ml / 90 min (that is 10:00 minus 11:30, which is 90 minutes). So 12510 = 1250 and take 1250 / 90 => 13.88 (round) = 14 gtt/min.

If you needed to do it by using hours would be the same equation above:
Volume x Calibration / Minutes, but add hours: Volume x Calibration / Minutes x 60.
