Differences in speech patterns and pronunciations, eye contact, and body language are all examples of how verbal and nonverbal communication may differ across cultures.

Answer to Question 2

The ripple effect refers to the group response that follows a reprimand directed at an individual. It has the effect of reducing overall classroom misbehavior because the group does what the individual is told to do, such as not reading a newspaper while in class.
