Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

All projects share a few common attributes familiar to project managers. First, projects have a well-defined, specific, goal-oriented purpose that can be broken down into sets of specific work tasks. Second, projects are time-limited, meaning that once all the work tasks are complete and the goal is accomplished, the project is complete. Third, in most organizations, projects are part of a larger system of ongoing activities that help the organization as a whole achieve its objectives. This means that all projects, by nature, are interdependent with other projects or ongoing work. A fourth common attribute is that projects are unique, meaning that while there may be similarities in detail when comparing one project with another, every project has something that is slightly different from other projects. This means that the project manager must customize some or all of the project for a given situation. A fifth attribute in common for projects is that because most projects occur in the context of other activities ongoing in an organization, projects must compete for time, money, and other needed resources. This competition for resources creates conflicts, which the project manager must manage. There are people inside and outside the project team that have an interest in particular projects because of the project requirements or because of the linkages that exist between them. This brings up a sixth common attribute: the reason why projects are used. Projects focus responsibility and authority for accomplishing tasks that are designed to achieve explicit goals. Without this focus, other things would get done, but not the projects that lead to goal achievement.

People who have myopia, or nearsightedness, are not able to see objects at a distance but only up close. It occurs when the cornea is either curved too steeply, the eye is too long, or both. This condition is progressive and worsens with time. More than 100 million people in the United States are nearsighted, but only 20% of those are born with the condition. Diet, eye exercise, drug therapy, and corrective lenses can all help manage nearsightedness.
