Influence is the efforts to influence the behavior of other individuals or companies (successful or unsuccessful) through the control of valuable resources. Power differs from social influence in that it is the successful use of resources to influence behavior. Organizational politics refers to unauthorized use of power to enhance or protect one's own interests or the interests of one's group.
