Answer to Question 1

Work place aggression can be managed effectively through tactics such as the following: Establish clear norms against abusive treatment of employees, as well as clear procedures for assuring that they are followed. If it is made clear in an organization from the top down that abusiveness toward employees will not be tolerated, then even highly aggressive managers will be likely to get the message. Train managers in interpersonal skills. Equipping managers with better communication skills and greater sensitivity to others can help reduce problems. Conduct periodic assessments of employee satisfaction and commitment. Assessments that are conducted in a confidential manner can uncover abusive behavior by managers, before the behavior becomes worse. Then, those managers can be trained, counseled, or disciplined as needed.

These people included 55 lung cancer patients, 31 breast cancer patients, and 83 cancer-free patients. The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
