Answer to Question 1

Emotional labor is the work that employees perform to control their experience and expression of moods and emotions on the job. Emotional labor is governed by display rules. The two types of display rules are feeling rules (which dictate appropriate and inappropriate feelings for a particular setting) and expression rules (which dictate what emotions should be expressed and how they should be expressed in a particular setting).
