Answer to Question 1

Answer: C

Answer to Question 2

Answer: New expatriate postings are not only down, but many employers are actually bringing them home early for a number of reasons. Posting expatriates abroad is very expensive, security problems increasingly give potential expatriates pause, educational facilities are turning out top-quality candidates abroad, and the recent global recession made the cost of posting employees abroad even more unattractive. As expatriates return home, employers can ease the transition with a repatriation program. Firms need to make sure that the expatriate and his or her family don't feel that the company has left them adrift. Firms often provide psychologists, mentors, career planning services, and relocation assistance.
