Answer to Question 1

International logistics is the management of the flow of materials, parts, supplies, and other resources from suppliers to the firm; the flow of materials, parts, supplies, and other resources within and between units of the firm itself; and the flow of finished products, services, and goods from the firm to customers. The first two sets of activities usually are called materials management, and the third set often is called physical distribution, or, more simply, distribution. There are three basic factors that differentiate domestic and international materials management: the distance involved in shipping, the number of transport modes involved, and the complexity of the regulatory context.
