E-commerce enablers provide the hardware, operating system software, networks and communications technology, applications software, web design, consulting services, and other tools required for e-commerce. While these firms may not be conducting e-commerce per se (although in many instances, e-commerce in its traditional sense is in fact one of their sales channels), as a group they have perhaps profited the most from the development of e-commerce.
