Regression analysis is a type of data mining analysis that measures the impact of a set of variables on another variable. For example, analysts in an organization can create a prediction to next year's Net Sales. If the economy grows by 2 and sales this year were 10 million, then sales next year will be 3 + (20  .02 ) + 10 = 13.4 million.
