Answer to Question 1

While these two terms are often used interchangeably, they are actually quite different. Because ERP implementations consist of many different projects it is important to have a separate program manager to help coordinate them all and to make sure they are meeting the overall goals of the business. The program manager will also have to keep track of projects that are ongoing, but not necessarily a part of the ERP implementation. The program manager will also be more strategically focused as opposed to the tactical focus of each project manager.
