Answer to Question 1

Coding standards are essential to teamwork, understanding the code, debugging, and maintenance. The primary reason for adopting a set of coding standards is to make it easier for developers to read and understand each other's code. A small difference in coding style can make a big difference in the speed of reading and understanding the code. Also, good coding standards can make it less likely that bugs will creep into the code, and if the standards can be applied as the code is written, the savings will be considerable.
