Answer to Question 1

TRUE

Answer to Question 2

OLAP, which is tied to server technologies, focuses on events that have happened in the past. To paraphrase a famous philosopher, only by understanding the past can we prepare for the future. The same holds true for businesses as well. Businesses evaluate and analyze the past behavior of their customers, industry competitors, B2B partners, and staff to make strategic decisions. This is where OLAP comes in. Using software tools, OLAP enables businesses to gain insight about outcomes from data patterns. OLAP tools do not predict behavior, but instead try to understand past behavior. By understanding data patterns, businesses can determine how the patterns affect them. OLAP tools help a business to better understand enterprise data prior to the process of data mining.
