Consumers who seek information about local businesses using mobile devices are much more active and ready to purchase than desktop users. A recent Google survey found over 80 of U.S. consumers use smartphones or tablet computers to conduct local searches on search engines for a variety of local information such as business hours, local store addresses and directions, and availability of local information through the purchase process, and 50 of smartphone users visited a store within a day of their local search, and 18 made a purchase within a day.
