The concept of cultural relativism requires that individuals not judge, but rather that they consid-er the actions, beliefs, or traits within their own cultural contexts to understand them better. Cul-tural relativism involves maintaining a sense of objectivity and an appreciation for the values of other cultures, not whether they are good or bad by external standards (Loustaunau & Sobo, 1997).
