The PDSA cycle is a process improvement tool that begins with three questions. These three questions are: 1) What are we trying to accomplish? 2) How will we know that a change is an improvement? and 3) What changes can we make that will result in improvement?

The University of Colorado Hospital Model provides a framework that nurses can use to organize data/information needed to care for patients as well as to evaluate the care rendered. The Model for Improvement utilizes a PDSA format.
