Answer to Question 1

B

Answer to Question 2

The holding environment is the safe place for dialogue, interaction, conflict, and change. Within the holding environment, people can feel safe tackling difficult problems, but they also still need to be engaged in these difficult problems. So a good holding environment provides enough comfort for people to express their opinions and ideas but is not so comfortable that people avoid issues and feel as though others will take on the difficult tasks for them. The holding environment is where adaptive work happens.
