Informatics deals primarily working with information and communicating information to others. Therefore communication tools are a necessary component of an informatics education. While the EBP, interprofessional teams, and patient safety can be enhanced by the use of informatics, they are not informatics knowledge, skills, or attitudes. Informatics is about information and communicating it to others.
