Answer to Question 1

B
Feedback:
Enhanced validity is an advantage of mixed methods research. When a hypothesis or model is supported by multiple and complementary types of data, researchers can be more confident about their inferences. The mixed methods approach does not necessarily increase the likelihood that the study will be published. It does not allow participants to select their method of responding, although it can involve intramethod mixing (for example, use of structured and unstructured self-reports). Providing researchers with different skills an opportunity to collaborate is not an important rationale for this approach.
