Answer to Question 2

Feedback:
Predictive validity is an instrument's ability to differentiate between people's performances on a future criterion. When a researcher correlates applicant's pre-admission test, high school grades, and SAT score with subsequent grade point averages, predictive validity is being evaluated. Construct validity is a key criterion for assessing research quality, and construct validity has most often been linked to measurement. Construct validity in measurement concerns these questions: What is this instrument really measuring? and Does it validly measure the abstract concept of interest? One approach to construct validation is the known-groups technique. In this procedure, groups that are expected to differ on the target attribute are administered the instrument, and group scores are compared. Concurrent validity is an instrument's ability to distinguish among people who differ presently on a criterion.
