Answer to Question 1

c

Answer to Question 2

Three ways event recording can be converted for reporting and graphing:
(a) Number of occurrences of a behavior if time is consistent across sessions. If the teacher wanted to record and graph the number of times John was out of his seat, she would simply recorded the number of occurrences each day during the given time period that John exhibited the behavior. She would then graph day's data as a separate data point.
(b) Number correct or percent correct if consistent number of opportunities to respond. If the teacher wanted to teach a student multiplication facts for the number three through nine, she could record correct responses on each of the multiplication facts for the number three through nine across several days. Each day the total number of correct multiplication facts could be tallied and graphed based on total number correct or percent correct if the total number correct was divided by the total possible number correct and multiplied by 100.
(c) Percent correct if the number of opportunities to respond varies. Ms. Smith wanted to record Stacey's progress on weekly math quizzes. She recorded Stacey's score as a percent correct because the number of questions on the quizzes varied each week. To calculate the percent correct each week she took the number of correct responses and divided it by the total number of questions and multiplied by 100. She then recorded the percent correct for each week on the graph.

There can actually be a 25-hour time difference between certain locations in the world. The International Date Line passes between the islands of Samoa and American Samoa. It is not a straight line, but "zig-zags" around various island chains. Therefore, Samoa and nearby islands have one date, while American Samoa and nearby islands are one day behind. Daylight saving time is used in some islands, but not in others—further shifting the hours out of sync with natural time.

People who have myopia, or nearsightedness, are not able to see objects at a distance but only up close. It occurs when the cornea is either curved too steeply, the eye is too long, or both. This condition is progressive and worsens with time. More than 100 million people in the United States are nearsighted, but only 20% of those are born with the condition. Diet, eye exercise, drug therapy, and corrective lenses can all help manage nearsightedness.
