1, Explain that a 2006 statute was passed requiring the OMB to provide more data about bureaucratic activities and expenditures, also known as Google your government.
2, Note that stimulus.gov was created in 2009 after the economic stimulus was passed and explained how those stimulus funds were being spent. Another example is data.gov, which provides information about the effectiveness of different government activities.
3, Note that these are related to transparency, because Americans want to know how their tax dollars are being spent. Providing adequate data through these websites helps to achieve greater transparency.
