An ideal response will:
1, Discuss the fact that minorities have traditionally had lower voter turnout rates than whites in the United States.
2, Explain that while voter turnout among African Americans has been lower than whites in recent elections, it has pulled almost equal.
3, Contrast the voter turnout rates with those of Hispanics, which historically have been low due to a number of factors, such as language problems. Note that their turnout rates are increasing in part due to candidates making special efforts to win over this increasingly important demographic.

1, Explain that age is a significant indicator of a person's decision to vote.
2, Note that younger people vote less than older people.
3, Explain why older people vote more frequently.
