Answer to Question 1

Supporting English language learning in English-only settings entails providing good instruction in general, making modifications where necessary (e.g., the use of comprehensible input and contextualization), and teaching ESL as a separate subject at a distinct time during the day.

Answer to Question 2

A well-stocked and managed classroom library should be a key feature of every early childhood classroom. To encourage young children to engage in book reading in this area, the classroom library must be well-designed, with partitions, ample space, comfortable furnishings, open-faced and traditional bookshelves, and book-related props and displays. Teachers will know quickly if their classroom library meets the criteria for being well designed; inviting classroom libraries are heavily used by the children.
