1. Children in the Gusii horticultural society were the most likely to have a nurturant-responsible personality.
2. This is explained by the large number of tasks, especially child care, entrusted to them at a young age.
3. Consumerism supports a narcissistic personality type because it is focused on providing for an individual's desires and encourages self-affirmation through material goods.
4. Consumerism thus does not encourage concern for others or the needs of the family.

1. Puberty is a biological point in the human life cycle defined by physiological markers.
2. Adolescence is a culturally defined period between childhood and adulthood.
3. The observance of adolescence varies greatly between cultures.
4. Within a culture there are often significant differences between males and females in how such a stage is recognized.
