Young adult literature should be:
 
  a. considered a stepping stone to better literature or as a holding ground until readers are ready for adult literature.
  b. appreciated and enjoyed in and of itself and young adults should have access to books written especially for them.
  c. considered questionable because some research suggests young adult literature does not contribute to the transition from children's books to adult books.
  d. used with caution to avoid censorship efforts as well as other efforts to ban young adult books and other genres.
