Answer to Question 1

Experimental group receives the active intervention, the control group receives no intervention or an inactive intervention such as a placebo. A placebo is an inactive substitute for a true intervention. It is sometimes called a sugar pill, but can be something other than a pill. For example a researcher could use a fake camera for a
placebo and a real camera in the experimental group.
