Answer to Question 1

False
RATIONALE: Despite the development of North Sea oil and gas resources (belonging mainly to the United Kingdom and Norway), Europe became and remains highly dependent on imported Middle Eastern and Russian oil and gas.

Answer to Question 2

9,000 feet - 5,000 feet = 4,000 feet increase in elevation
-3.5 degrees x 4 = -14 degrees
44 degrees - 14 degrees = 30 degrees
