The eye of a hurricane is its center. Within the eye, winds are light, clouds are mainly broken, and the surface air pressure is very low. The eyewall is adjacent to the eye and is a ring of intense thunderstorms that whirl around the storm's center. The heaviest precipitation and the strongest winds are found within the eyewall.
