Answer to Question 1

A

Answer to Question 2

A glacial erratic is a rock that has been eroded by a glacier and deposited some distance from its source. Erratics are compositionally dissimilar to the bedrock in the area of deposition.

By determining the likely source for an erratic, scientists can estimate the extent of historical glaciation.
