hurricane behavior, which provides for better planning and longer evacuation lead
times. Improved communication and transportation systems allow for more effi cient
evacuation of residents in high-risk areas



Answer to Question 2

The length of a hurricanes path is proportional to its intensity . In general, the farther
the hurricane travels, the more powerful it becomes. However, the H4 and H5 hurricanes
traveled about the same distance.
