Answer to Question 2

The textbook and teacher's manual appear to emphasize isolated facts, yet Ms. Steinbach wants her students to learn general geographic principles that are applicable to a variety of situations. In other words, Ms. Steinbach is hoping that her students will be able to transfer geography in their efforts to interpret what they see in the world around them. In a nutshell, Ms. Steinbach doesn't believe that the textbook and teacher's manual are consistent with her instructional objectives.

The viruses in the flu shot are killed—there is no way they can give you the flu. Minor side effects include soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given. It is possible to develop a slight fever, and body aches, but these are simply signs that the body is responding to the vaccine and making itself ready to fight off the influenza virus should you come in contact with it.
