The largest average annual temperature ranges occur at subpolar, continental locations in North America and Asia. By comparison, the Southern Hemisphere has smaller temperature ranges. The reason is in the domination of continentality in the Northern Hemisphere in the marine effect in the Southern Hemisphere.
