Answer to Question 1

B

Answer to Question 2

Longshore transport is caused primarily by currents that form within the surf zone and travel parallel to the shoreline, carrying sediments along with them. In addition to this process, beach drift is caused by breaking waves washing up to shore and dragging sediments back down the beach slope when the waves retreat, resulting in sediment moving down the beach in a zigzag pattern.
