Some islands, such as Puerto Rico, have promoted industry through the establishment of free-trade zones and assembly plants; others, such as the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands, have focused on off-shore banking; and still others, such as St. Kitts and Antigua, have promoted online gambling. Tourism remains a significant industry for many countriesnotably Cuba, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and the Dominican Republic.
