Answer to Question 1

A common measure of gender inequity is the ratio of male to female students enrolled in
elementary and secondary schools. It is predicated on the assumption that access to education
significantly influences literacy and, by extension, provides an indication of the overall status of women in any given society.

Answer to Question 2

Migrants to Europe often come from former colonies, for example many migrants to the United Kingdom come from India or Kenya. In the case of Germany, many migrants come from Turkey, which was Germany's ally in World War I. Originally, many migrants came when there were many low-wage jobs available. Today, fewer jobs are available, and there are growing concerns about potential terrorism from migrants.
