Answer to Question 1

Answers should mention winter rains, dry summers, and mild temperatures.

Answer to Question 2

Lines of latitude (parallels) run east-west and measure the distance north or south of the equator.
Lines of longitude (meridians) run north-south and measure the distance east or west of the
Prime Meridian.
