The Stoics view of the emotions was that
 
 

a. the best life is one in which I am no longer controlled by my emotions.
  b. it is necessary to express my emotions to be a fulfilled human being.
  c. pleasure and desire are good emotions but grief and fear are to be avoided.
  d. the only emotions that are necessary and unavoidable are pleasure, desire, grief, and fear.
