A report differs from an argument chiefly in that:
 
  a. It avoids controversial subjects.
  b. Its main purpose is to inform in a manner that wins trust in the reliability of
  the information.
  c. Material that does not support the conclusion is omitted or downplayed. d. It has a clearly committed bias.

Question 2

Arguments and reports are each structured differently and have different objectives. We cannot analyze one according to the standards of the other. An argument differs from a report in that:
 
  a. It can be disagreeable.
  b. It leaves the final assessment up to the reader or listener.
  c. It displays no bias.
  d. Its main purpose is to persuade others to agree with the idea presented
  and defended.
