The light isotope of oxygen, oxygen 16, vaporizes more readily than the heavy isotope, oxygen 18. As
climate warms, evaporation increases and the ratio of O-18 to O-16 becomes higher.

Sedimentary rocks, because they follow the principles of historical geology, and they contain fossils.
